Why this service matters in Mermaid Beach

How the work runs

The WiFi and 2.4G control layer also runs the 24V RGB+CCT garden lights. Parts specified together can be named and re-ordered against each other later.

The published sequence after an enquiry is that the project details are reviewed, a lighting system is recommended, and a quote or purchase order is sent through.

Trade pricing and bulk supply are offered to electricians and builders, and the homepage addresses trade professionals alongside personal projects. Trade supply does not depend on where the installation service reaches.

Installation runs through the trade arm under Queensland Electrical Contractor Licence #90549.

What's included in a Mermaid Beach package

Every package lists a full lighting design consultation — the design is the product, not a preset tier.

  • The three published packages

Luxe Glow, Luxe Colour and Luxe Signature, each supplied and installed.

Displayed at $1,199.00, $2,499.00 and $3,999.00 on 2026-08-04. On a Mermaid Beach building the useful question is not which of the three is dearest but how much of the envelope each is being asked to cover – which is a conversation, not a line item.

  • Whole-of-home lighting design consultation

A design consultation that fixes runs, driver positions and control zones for the space as it is actually built.

All three packages list a full lighting design consultation among their inclusions, displayed 2026-08-04. On a brief covering an entrance, several rooms and a garden it is doing the real work, because the room count and the circuit count are not knowable from an address.

  • 24V Signature strip and size-matched aluminium profile

Signature LED strip supplied with the aluminium profile sized to it, and 24V drivers sized to the load.

10x10 strip goes to 10x10 profile and 16x16 to 16x17, and the same family runs a hallway, a stair and a kitchen with different specifications in each. Across one building that is one parts list rather than three unrelated ones.

  • 24V RGB+CCT garden lights

Purpose-built 24V smart garden lights in 9W and 6W, specified separately from strip.

Where a brief here reaches past the back door, these are the products the client publishes for the position – its collection page says its systems are “used in modern homes, commercial environments and outdoor spaces across Australia”, and nothing beyond that wording is claimed for them.

  • Supply for electricians and builders

Component supply for trade buyers fitting the system themselves, with shipping Australia-wide.

A builder is the one customer who commissions an entire envelope as a matter of routine, and Klaye’s repeat engagement across several projects is the closest published analogue to the brief this page describes. The parts list for one whole building is a single order either way.

Areas we cover around Mermaid Beach

Installation runs across Mermaid Beach and the surrounding areas, with the wider Gold Coast region also served.

Frequently asked questions

You are based on the Sunshine Coast. Do you actually work in Mermaid Beach?

Installation in Mermaid Beach is offered on the same model as everywhere else: a licensed installer travelling from the business’s only premises, 5/13 Kayleigh Dr, Buderim. There is no office, depot, showroom or crew in Mermaid Beach, and nothing described on this page happened there. The coverage itself is not an inference – the trade site’s own published service statement names the region this suburb sits in.

How much of a 24V install can I legally do myself in Queensland?

Less than the voltage alone suggests, and the exclusion is narrower than it looks. Under the Electrical Safety Act 2002 (Qld) s 18(1), connecting supply wiring to equipment, and installing, altering, repairing or maintaining electrical equipment or an electrical installation, is electrical work. Section 18(2) then sets out exclusions, and paragraphs (p) and (q) cover connecting and disconnecting prescribed equipment only where FOUR conditions all hold: the task can be safely performed by a person who does not have expertise in carrying out electrical work; the equipment REMAINS at extra low voltage after it is connected under (p), or WAS at extra low voltage before it was disconnected under (q); it is not in an area whose atmosphere presents a risk to health and safety from fire or explosion; and it is not, and is not part of, a cathodic protection system. So the mains side – hardwiring a driver into a circuit, running a new lighting circuit, anything at the switchboard – is licensed work. Queensland requires an electrical work licence to carry out electrical work at all, and an electrical contractor licence on top of that where the work is done as part of a business.

Can the strip go outside – on a balcony, a patio or in the garden?

No, and the reason is specific rather than cautious. An IP rating is a tested classification of a particular enclosure, so it belongs to the item that carries it and cannot be read across to anything else. No strip, profile, controller, remote or garden light in this range publishes one. An unrated strip in an exposed position has not been assessed for exposure, which is a different thing from having passed or failed – so no outdoor, balcony or wet-area suitability is claimed here for any of them. Exterior work is a separate conversation about separate products.

Can we do one room now and add more later?

Yes, and that is the practical argument for a matched system rather than an assortment. Because the strips, profiles, drivers and control layer are one 24V family, a run added in two years can be specified against what is already installed instead of guessed at. The parts can still be named and re-ordered later, by any electrician.

Our address is at Nobby Beach. Is that a different suburb for this?

No. The City of Gold Coast places it inside this locality: it describes “The Nobby Beach Neighbourhood Centre” as “a commercial strip fronting the eastern side of the Gold Coast Highway between Chairlift Avenue and Wave Street, Mermaid Beach.” So a Nobby Beach address is a Mermaid Beach address for everything on this page, and nothing in a specification changes because of it – what a scheme costs and how it is built is decided by the building and the rooms in scope, not by which name the local signage carries.

We are in Mermaid Waters, not Mermaid Beach. Do the figures on this page describe us?

No, and it is worth being precise about it. Mermaid Waters is a separate locality with its own ABS code and its own dwelling figures; every count on this page is Mermaid Beach’s, published under SAL31811. The two are not interchangeable and this page does not read one as the other. What is unchanged is the service position: both sit inside the City of Gold Coast, which is the region the client’s own services page names.
